A test looks incomplete

Open the complete report and read the measurement note beside the missing value. Some stages require a working path, and optional Wi‑Fi identity requires user-approved Location Services access. Native macOS normally reports exact channel, band, width, and signal through CoreWLAN; it will label Wi‑Fi off, not associated, changing during the read, or not reported instead of guessing. Exact values remain unavailable to ordinary iPhone and iPad apps.

A speed is marked “lower bound”

The connection moved the selected data budget too quickly for a long steady-state window. The displayed speed is supported by the transferred data, but the link may be faster. Choose a larger throughput budget in More for a longer measurement.

Diagnosing intermittent dropouts

Open Tests → Investigate dropouts and choose a monitoring duration. On iOS 26, start the session before locking the phone; iOS displays its continued-processing progress and may cancel or expire it. On earlier iOS versions, leave NetMaster visible. On Mac, the finite monitor can continue while its window is covered or the display is locked, but putting the entire Mac to sleep creates an unknown gap. Tap Mark dropout when you notice a failure. The final report compares observed coverage, path, gateway, DNS, IPv4/IPv6, independent remote controls, latency spikes, and access-point handoffs.

Location permission

NetMaster never requests coordinates or starts location updates. Apple may require Location Services authorization before an app can read the connected Wi‑Fi name, BSSID, and security. On Mac, exact channel, band, RSSI, noise, and link rate remain independent of that identity permission. The rest of NetMaster works when permission is declined.

Delete local history

Open More → Clear history to remove diagnostic history. NetMaster has no developer-managed account or developer-operated database, so there is no separate NetMaster server account to delete. If private Mac monitoring is enabled, its synchronized data is stored in your own private iCloud database; disable sharing on the Mac to stop new updates.

How do I connect my Mac and iPhone?

Sign in to the same iCloud account on both devices. On the Mac, open Monitor and enable sharing, then generate a pairing code. On the iPhone, open Monitor, enter that code before it expires, and keep NetMaster open while viewing live five-second updates. Pairing authorizes one iPhone installation at a time.
